Jesse McCartney's love for acting began when his parents, who are actors and singers, would put on community plays involving the whole family. Then, at the age of nine, Jesse started to pursue his own acting roles and won the part of Louis in the play, The King And I. With a few theater credits under his belt, he eventually landed his first TV gig as Adam Chandler Jr. on All My Children.

Jesse now stars as Bradin Westerly on the new, hit WB show, Summerland. He learned to surf for his character, who moves from smalltown Kansas to sunny California after facing a family tragedy.

In the first season, Bradin crushes on his hot surfing instructor, gets drunk, and even gets into a fight to protect his surfing instructor!

Jesse McCartney - Exploring His Emotions

Jesse's acting career isn't the only thing that's on fire. He recently released his solo debut album, Beautiful Soul. The disc is a rich compilation of soul-infused pop songs about his heartfelt experiences with girls and relationships. Jesse is already seeing success as a solo artist, as his songs have been featured on the soundtracks for Ella Enchanted, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, and That's So Raven. But before Jesse launched his solo career, he was a member of both the Sugar Beats and Dream Street, which opened for Britney Spears' Onyx Hotel tour.
